Charles has been writing songs, recording music and playing guitar since the age of ten. He knew he would be playing guitar since he picked one up. He started playing left-handed but was forced to switch to right-handed playing when an accident took the tip of his right index finger. His first memory of Dexter Freebish goes back five years when he and Chris played together in Auston at a house party. Three weeks later they ran into each other in the bathroom at the once famous now defunct Steamboat Club in Austin. They reintroduced themselves, remembered each other from the party and called each other the next day. Soon after that Dexter Freebish was created.
